Nevada Considers Technology to Scan Cellphones After Crashes

A legislative proposal could make Nevada one of the first states to allow police to use a contentious technology to find out if a person was using a cellphone during a car crash.

A similar proposal failed in New York, but might very well come back again.

I met with Ben Lieberman and testified on behalf of the program. If you don’t remember Ben, his 19-year-old son died in a crash involving distracted driving, and he is urging support for this proposal.
