With More And More Cars On The Road, Long Island Police Stepping Up Enforcement Of Distracted Driving Laws
Traffic is back and Long Island officials have recently kicked off a campaign to curb dangerous distracted driving, which is worse than ever.
Nassau County police are out in force.
The law is clear: Drivers cannot hold a phone to talk or text while behind the wheel, including at a red light.
The penalty is worse: $376 and five points on your license for distracted driving, which results in higher insurance premiums for years.
The phone can wait. Be an example to your family and friends.
